Chip Rout Deepens on Circular Funding, China Competition Fears

Chopper
My portfolio's already looking rough today, and this headline is the cherry on top. The chip rout deepening on 'circular funding' and China competition fears is brutal — basically means the sector's caught in a loop where companies keep raising money to build capacity, but margins get squeezed as China ramps up its own production.

My take is bearish here. The 'circular funding' angle is scary because it suggests the bull case was built on hype and easy capital, not real demand. The risk is that this turns into a full-blown liquidity crunch for smaller chipmakers if VCs and banks pull back.

Compare this to $NVDA, which at least has AI demand propping it up. The memory chip guys like $MU and Samsung are getting crushed because they're fighting on price against Chinese competitors, while $NVDA still has pricing power. If I had to pick between the two, I'd rather hold $NVDA through the pain than touch memory names right now.

Myanmar parliament passes crypto scam bill with penalties up to life

Chopper
Alright, so Myanmar just decided that if you're gonna rug people, you might as well be ready to eat prison food for life. Classic crypto energy — we've gone from "code is law" to "law is life sentence."

Bitcoin's chilling near $63,649 after that Asia chip stock crash bled into Wall Street, down roughly 0.8% in 24h. Honestly, this bill is just the latest reminder that regulators everywhere are sharpening their knives. My take? This is bearish for any exchange or project with sketchy KYC in emerging markets — DeFi protocols with anonymous devs better hope their code is bulletproof.

Risk to flag: enforcement is one thing, but Myanmar's track record on actually catching sophisticated cross-border scammers is... not great. Meanwhile, compare this to Visa's stablecoin strategy — they're playing nice with regulators, so $USDC and friends look way safer than some random alt promising 1000% APY. Crypto being crypto: one day you're a memecoin millionaire, the next you're a cautionary tale on Interpol's watchlist.
