Ray Dalio says to buy 'a bit' of Bitcoin amid potential debt crisis

Ray Dalio flipping to "buy a bit" is the kind of headline that makes me check if I'm reading a parody account. The guy spent years calling Bitcoin a bubble, and now he's citing a debt crisis as a reason to own some. It's not a ringing endorsement, but when the world's most famous macro hedger starts talking about it, that's narrative fuel. BTC is sitting near $77,947, up 3.8% on the day, and gold is also near highs. The logic is simple: both are reacting to the same fiat devaluation trade.

My take is this is more real than hype, but the "bit" part matters. Dalio isn't saying go all-in; he's saying it's an insurance policy. That aligns with our market thermometer at 44°, which is warm but not overheated, despite the fear and greed index screaming at 82 Extreme Greed. That divergence is the risk — sentiment is running ahead of on-chain fundamentals.

Compared to gold, BTC is still the volatile little brother, but it's finally acting like a hedge in a crisis. The real test is if it holds these levels when the next risk-off sweep hits. If Dalio's thesis is right, dips get bought. If it's wrong, we find out how fast his followers exit.
